Yoga stretch session

A six week yoga stretch session will begin Wednesday, May 14 at the United Methodist Church on Golf Course Road in Amsterdam. The class will be held from 4 to 5 p.m. and is for those who have physical limitations; weight issues' are recovering from an injury; or who want a basic, gentle introduction to yoga. The instructor will be James Meehan, D.C., Certified Yoga Teacher. For more information, call Marilyn or Richard Betz at 842-6156.

Ride planned to benefit scholarship fund

The second annual benefit ride, sponsored by the American Legion Riders of Post 701 in Amsterdam, will be held May 18 rain or shine, to support the American Legacy Scholarship Fund. Registration for the event starts at 10 a.m. and the ride leaves promptly at 12 p.m. from the Sawmill Tavern at 501 Southside Ave. in Schenectady. The riders will be visiting veterans in the VA Hospital in Albany. The ride ends at the American Legion Post 701 in Amsterdam, where music and food will be provided. The event is $20 per person.
